Look, I'm not from New York. Obviously. I'm not even American. But I tell you what, every time I'm in Melbourne's CBD (which is practically every day) and I see an aircraft of any description disappearing behind a large building I get the shivers.
The images of 9/11 (or, as we call it in Australia 11/9) are still so vivid many years later that the sight of an aircraft in a built up area seem so, so wrong.
Which is why this absolutely beggars belief.
Flying a 747 escorted by two F16s through the Manhattan skyline with barely a word of warning is possibly one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. Scrap that, it is DEFINITELY one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of.
Whoever is responsible for this receives the Kingsley Kingston Esq DICKHEAD OF THE WEEK Award.
Seriously.
